A Quick Hello From Istanbul

I'm slow getting Istanbul photos posted for two reasons: having too many adventures and dealing with an Internet connection that is sometimes too slow to upload photos. Mainly too busy.

More photos Monday morning if the Wi-Fi connection stays stable.

Istanbul, across the Golden Horn, from the Galata Tower.

Hitching a free ride.

Smoking a shisha pipe at an outdoor coffee cafe.

Hot Turkish tea.

The view from our balcony. You can hear the call to prayer really good from here. Morning call to prayer started at 5:30 this morning and went on for twenty minutes. Those Baptist Church prayers I used to sit through don't seem so long now. And they didn't used to wake me up. Oh... yes they did. I remember now.

The building in the foreground, with the fourth floor light on, is right across the street from our hotel. According to a crude hand-painted sign on the terrace, and a spray-painted message on the front steps, this is "Emin's place." I don't have a clue who Emin is, but you don't get detailed information like this from just any blog.
